About C2U Gosport CIC

Our Mission

C2U Gosport CIC is dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals, families, children, veterans, and residents who are isolated or experiencing hardship. We offer essential food support, mental health and wellbeing services, opportunities for social connection, practical guidance, and a welcoming community space tailored for those most in need.

Who We Help

Our beneficiaries include those facing financial challenges who rely on our no-referral food bank, people affected by loneliness who find companionship in our warm hub, and individuals struggling with mental health who receive support through Sean’s Safe Space and our counselling services. Families and children benefit from our holiday breakfast clubs and activity sessions, while veterans are supported through dedicated drop-ins, groups, and community networks. Through our inclusive environment, strong community partnerships, and signposting, we reach some of Gosport’s most vulnerable and socially excluded individuals.

The Role of Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of C2U Gosport CIC. They help operate the food bank, prepare meals in the warm hub, and support children’s sessions, community events, and wellbeing activities. Volunteers’ welcome visitors, provide a listening ear in safe spaces, assist with form-filling and applications, and offer practical guidance with employment skills. They also contribute to delivering craft groups, messy play, veterans’ activities, seasonal events, counselling support, workshops, and administration. Together, volunteers create a safe and supportive environment where people feel valued, connected, and empowered.

Our Impact

By improving food security, reducing social isolation, and providing mental health, wellbeing, and practical support, C2U Gosport CIC strengthens the local community. Our warm hubs, counselling services, safe spaces, children’s activities, veteran services, and no-referral food bank ensure that anyone in need can access compassion, stability, and meaningful assistance. Our volunteer-led approach helps build confidence, resilience, and connection, enabling individuals to regain independence and hope during difficult times.

Bringing Our Community Together

C2U Gosport CIC is dedicated to bringing the community together, creating lasting memories, and helping make Gosport a safer, more connected place to live.

We proudly support community celebrations that honour shared history and local spirit, including events such as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the VE Day 80th anniversary. Alongside these commemorations, we organise family-focused experiences designed to create joyful, lasting memories — from our Easter Experience to our Christmas Experience, including the much-loved Grinch takeover.

We are also developing a new community safety initiative: C2U Gosport CIC – Shop Watch. This programme aims to strengthen communication and cooperation between local businesses and partner agencies to promote a safer town centre. Initial discussions have already taken place with local agencies and Dame Caroline Dineage, Gosport’s MP. Information has been shared with local businesses, and we are currently gathering expressions of interest as we move towards implementation.

Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to celebrating community, supporting families, and building a safer future for Gosport.
